This is the place for you, whether you are just learning about the world of orchids or you have experience to share.
Our strength lies in knowledgeable members who generously share their expertise about orchid growing in our particular environment.

• NEWSLETTER:   Members receive a monthly electronic newsletter that includes meeting and program information.
• GOS ORCHID LIBRARY:  Orchid books or magazines on a wide variety of topics may be borrowed by GOS members free of charge. 
• ANNUAL ORCHID AUCTION:We hold an annual orchid auction with proceeds going to the society.  Great plants at great prices.   
• ORCHID SHOWS:  GOS holds an annual orchid show where members display their orchids.We also participate in a number of shows throughout north central Florida. 
• AFFILIATION WITH THE AMERICAN ORCHID SOCIETY (AOS):  We are an affiliate of the AOS.  A number of  local GOS members are also AOS show judges.  They provide regular updates on AOS publications and activities. 
• GREENHOUSE TOURS: Members open their greenhouses to society members to share their growing environment and cultural tips.

At our monthly meeting...

• ORCHID BASICS PROGRAM: An experienced grower provides helpful hints about growing orchids.  Very informative for new growers.  Starts at 7:00 p.m. (1/2 hour before the meeting).
• PROGRAM PRESENTATION: A guest speaker presents a specific topic such as cultural needs, potting or mounting, native orchids, slides of orchid displays from conventions, etc. Speakers often offer orchids for sale.
• BLOOM TABLE:  An impressive display of members’  blooming orchids.  Plants are judged by a team of members with an  experienced grower providing comments on plants.
• ORCHID PLANT RAFFLE AND SILENT AUCTION:  A great opportunity for orchid fanciers to expand their collections.  Buy three raffle tickets for $1 (or 20 for $5) or make a bid on one of our silent auction plants.
• REFRESHMENTS

Yearly Membership Dues: Individual $25.00, Family $30.00, Student $15.00
